CREES has been supporting research in Manu
since 2003, providing logistical, consulting and management support.
Through our extensive network of field stations, eco tourism lodges
and indigenous community lodges, we are able to provide specialised
rates and packages that combine comfort and safety with research
needs. Our direct management of one of the leading research field
stations, the Manu Learning Centre, provides a solid base for
long-term projects and provides a constant on the ground support
for research teams.
The Manu Learning Centre can host an array
of diverse research projects thanks to its own unique diversity
and history within the region. Based within a private reserve
the centre has access to 7 different forest types, mammal and
avian clay licks, canopy trees and old agricultural plots. The
MLC works as an excellent base to set up analysis laboratories,
monitoring programmes, and transect studies, as well as mammal
camera trapping, mist netting and aquatic surveys. We also encourage
and can facilitate work in the local communities and indigenous
settlements.
CREES actively supports cutting edge and
traditional research projects providing an environment of openness
and support to projects that may just be in trial stages. Our
team of advisors help ensure that all the projects carried out
promote learning and understanding in the local context, and then
link it to global realities.

been undertaken at the MLC and supported by CREES, please explore
